Khul Radio is a youth-run, youth-owned music and pop-culture station based South Africa. We develop and entertain the next generation through educational and informative broadcasting that moves like your favourite playlist.
We’re a collective of young broadcasters, producers, writers, DJs and builders. Khul. exists to give youth a real platform-designed for the youth-with mentorship, tooling and editorial guardrails to deliver a professional sound from day one.
Music submissions & partnerships open year-round.
Daytime is hit-driven and familiar; nights broaden to new SA, urban and global discoveries. All submissions are reviewed for audio quality, suitability and complete metadata.
We hold a “facts-first, youth-honest” line: accurate, fair, non-discriminatory and responsible. We amplify solutions, not just problems; and we respect our listeners’ time, culture and intelligence.
Khul Radio is a youth-led brand with a rotating Station Council, specialist committees (Music, Programming, News, Community) and a Community Advisory Group for accountability.
Digital-only for now; terrestrial licensing will follow regulator requirements.
We turn listeners into makers: newsroom workshops, audio storytelling labs, live-event practice and portfolio projects with real deadlines. Mentors guide-youth drive.
